Wall quality inspection. This step should be conducted during the handover process. First, everyone should thoroughly inspect the walls that need painting to ensure they are solid and smooth. If there are large gaps or holes in the walls, it should be suggested to the developer or property management for rework. Some holes can be filled with plaster.

Preparation before applying putty: Ensure the wall surface is firm and level. Clean the wall surface with a wire brush or other specialized tools to remove as much dust and loose material as possible. Apply a coat of waterproof concrete putty evenly to the wall and allow it to dry (usually more than 2 hours) before applying the putty.

Apply moisture-resistant putty. Before applying putty, accurately measure the flatness of the wall surface using a ruler longer than 2 meters to determine the appropriate putty application method. Generally, two coats of putty are sufficient to level the surface and cover the background color. For areas with unevenness, several coats may be needed. If the flatness is uneven and the wall is severely warped, consider applying a coat of plaster first for leveling before applying putty. Allow at least two hours between each coat of putty (after it has dried completely).
